The Titans continue to pop up in the news for several free agents. They helped bolster their defense again this week by signing former Cleveland Brown linebacker Mohamoud Diabate.
Just when you think the Titans might be done, they are linked to multiple free agents. Some of these might be interesting additions, but I do think it would improve the Titans moving forward.
Dendre Hopkins
Hopkins played for the Titans from 2023 to 2024, totaling over 1600 yards during his time with the Titans. Hopkins is coming off the lowest usage rate of his career and the worst season of his career. With just 330 yards and 22 receptions, it's safe to say Hopkins was disappointing for the Ravens this year.
However, I think he could be an excellent fit for the Titans again. He would be a reliable wideout for Cam Ward, and would mainly be used as a redzone threat, as 1-on-1, he is still one of the best receivers in the NFL.
Hopkins may also get some solid usage downfield if guys like Wandale Robinson or Calvin Ridley are covered by the top corners on other teams. Hopkins would sign a one-year deal for about three to four million as he would look to help build Tennessee back to a contender.
Taylor Decker
Decker spent the last 10 seasons with the Detroit Lions, but it doesn't seem like the Lions will bring him back, unless he accepts a team-friendly deal. Decker has been an extremely solid left tackle and a Pro Bowler in 2024.
Decker would provide a crazy boost to any offensive line, and considering how bad their o-line has been the last few years, any depth would be helpful for this team. In all 10 seasons, Decker hasn’t had a snap count lower than 95% in his career.
Although Decker and his snap count have gone down, he could still easily start on the Titans or get plenty of reps on their o-line. It would be another one-year contract, with Decker getting around ten million per year. Decker will most likely go to a contender, but the Titans could easily get a steal with Decker on the o-line.
Stefon Diggs
This may be the most likely deal as Diggs was released by the Patriots at the beginning of free agency. Diggs has a huge share of off-the-field issues leading to his release, but he is still one of the most consistent receivers in the NFL.
Diggs has had 1000 yards receiving in seven of his last eight seasons, with the one season he missed the mark being a season-ending injury that ended his season after 8 games. Diggs would be an excellent addition at the right price, as he could be a safety valve for Ward.
Diggs helped significantly in Drake Maye's development this past year and can do the same in Tennessee. Most teams may not extend an offer to Diggs, but at this point, the Titans have nothing to lose. A one-year deal worth around 12 million should be enough to get Diggs in Tennessee unless a contender is willing to take another chance on him.
