Titans fans are ecstatic about Cam Ward and this new era of Tennessee Titans football; however, it could be a bumpy start as the Titans play one of the toughest schedules in the league to start the season.
Although the Titans have revamped their offensive weapons by getting players such as Tony Pollard, Calvin Ridley, and Tyler Lockett but their offensive line still doesn’t look promising.
With the Titans facing the Broncos and Rams the first two weeks of the season, Ward might get a wake-up call real quick in the NFL. Two playoff teams from last season with solid defences and great coaches, and it doesn’t get any easier.
The Titans then take on the Colts and Texans in weeks three and four, which will be two difficult divisional games, as most are. Then the Titans head out west to play the Cardinals and Raiders, and finish up with the Patriots as Mike Vrabel makes his return to Nashville.
I would think at best this Titans team could go 4-3, which, if that is the case, would make Titans fans happy about the future of the team, especially in year one of a rebuild. Ultimately, though, I see the Titans going 2-5 in these games.
They play what is likely to be four playoff teams in the Rams, Broncos, Texans, and Patriots, and a tough road matchup against the Cardinals. The Titans at home will get a win against the Colts, and get one on the road against the Raiders as well.
Titans fans have a lot to look forward to this season, and this tough schedule may be the best thing possible moving forward in their season. It will show what aspects of the team are doing well, and the ones that need the most improvement.
