After an up-and-down 2025 season, the Eagles have a pivotal 2026 off-season ahead. The Eagles hired Packers quarterbacks coach Sean Manion to be their offensive coordinator after letting go of Kevin Pattullo.

"I'm thrilled to have Sean Mannion on board as the new offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles," head coach Nick Sirianni said. "My goal throughout this process was to operate with an open mind regarding the future of our offense to find the best fit for the Eagles. Over the last few weeks, I had an opportunity to meet with a number of talented candidates and great offensive minds. I am appreciative of the time I was able to spend with each of them. Some came with years of experience running an offense and calling plays. Others were young, sharp, and dynamic coaches on the rise. I felt it was important to be patient and thorough to allow the right fit to reveal himself to us. Sean did just that.”

Mannion played quarterback for nine seasons in the NFL and has only spent two years coaching in the league, but has quickly moved up the ranks. After finishing 19th in points this past season, the Eagles believe Mannion will help the offense get back being a top rated unit in the league.

At just 33 years old, Mannion is a super smart offensive mind who would’ve gotten an opportunity very quickly elsewhere if the Eagles had not signed him.

Why do I think he’s such a great hire? Well, it’s simple; while he has not called plays before, Mannion comes from a background of being surrounded by some of the best offensive minds in the entire NFL.

Mannion has a similar mind to the Shanahan tree, coaching under Packers head coach Matt LaFleur for two seasons. The new coordinator also played under Sean McVay, Kevin O’Connell, Liam Coen, Kevin Stefanski, and more. This includes more pre snap motion, something we didn’t see a lot of under Patullo. It’s clear the Eagles liked and valued where Mannion came from.

The risk that comes with hiring Mannion for this job is not unfamiliar territory for Philadelphia. Because of how much fire power there is on this offense, the coaches who do well here get rewarded. It happened with Shane Steichen as the Colts hired him to be their head coach after the Eagles made the Super Bowl in 2022. After winning the Super Bowl in 2024, then-offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was hired to be the Saints head coach.

With Mannion being just 33 years old and already getting an offensive coordinator job, it may only be a short matter of time until he receives head coaching opportunities if he succeeds with the Eagles.

After helping develop Jordan Love and Malik Willis, Mannion will now have the likes of Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown, and DeVonta Smith at his disposal in year one as a player caller.

After 13 years which included two Super Bowl championships, eagles, offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland announced he was leaving the Eagles on February 4.

Five days later, it was announced that the Eagles are hiring Chris Kuper as their new offensive line coach, according to Tom Pelissero. Kuper coached for the Vikings in the same role for the last four seasons and spent time with Mannion in the organization. Kuper was also a part of Vic Fangio‘s coaching staff in Denver as the assistant offensive line coach.

The Eagles offensive line had a big drop off in 2025, with the offense averaging 116.9 rushing yards per game, which ranked 18th in the NFL. Philadelphia also has question marks as to who will be starting along the offensive line next season as veteran tackle Lane Johnson and guard Landen Dickerson have been reported to both be contemplating retirement.

Replacing arguably the best offensive line coach of all time will not be easy, but if the Eagles want to get back to the Super Bowl, they’ll need to see improvement from 2025.
