The Titans OTA’s are in full swing as they look to fill out their offense for the 26-27 season. With the Titans bringing in a bunch of new players on offense, it may take time for them to adjust to a new offense.
For starters, Carnell Tate continues to shine in offense vs defense drills. Most people expected the Titans to take a defensive player, but Tate so far is showing why he was the highest drafted receiver in the 2026 draft.
Tate caught a 50-yard touchdown pass from QB Cam Ward and has tormented the Titans' secondary early during these drills. Tate has been picking up some early pointers from both Wan’Dale Robinson and Calvin Ridley, and I think these three could be a solid trio going into the season.
On the defensive side of the ball, Alontae Taylor and John Franklin-Myers have been solid during the drills as well. Taylor leads defensive backs in passes defended and Franklin-Myers has been tops in disrupting plays and timed drills.
Ward has struggled a bit since coming back, but it will take him a while to adjust since separating his shoulder back in January. It seems Ward is overthrowing his receivers and playing extremely conservatively, and that could have to do with him compensating for his shoulder.
On the flip side, second-string QB Mitch Trubisky looked great and has been adapting well to his new offense and helping develop Ward.
From a depth-chart perspective, this is how the Titans' current depth chart shapes out.
QB: Cam Ward, Mitch Trubisky
RB: Tony Pollard, Tyjae Spears, Nic Singleton
WR1: Carnell Tate, Elic Ayomanor
WR2: Wan’Dale Robinson, Chimere Dike
WR3: Calvin Ridley, Bryce Oliver
TE: Gunnar Helm, Daniel Bellinger
From the looks of it right now, this is how most Titans fans and experts expected this lineup to shape out. For the wide receiver position, Tate, Robinson and Ridley would be the starting receivers, with the three players behind them being their backups.
It's great to see Helm as the TE1, as the second-year tight end is developing nicely, considering Daniel Bellinger could easily slide into that spot with the experience he brings in from the Giants and knowing Brian Daboll’s playbook.
The Titans offense will turn some heads this year; the o-line is improved, and the Titans got better at both wide receiver and tight end. With a new coaching staff taking over, and the season just a few months away, it's exciting to see what the Titans will accomplish moving forward.
