Injuries have plagued an already disastrous season for the Boston Red Sox. Losing the ace of the pitching staff and then the top prospect hoping to be a big help for the season back-to-back has not been what the Red Sox expected.

The Boston Red Sox have done something they have not been able to accomplish since back in April, when the team had its star players. The Red Sox won their home series from June 12-14 against the Texas Rangers. Yes, that is a correct statement. The last time the Red Sox came away with a series win.

The Boston Red Sox are the streakiest team in the league. One day, they will score ten runs, and then the next, they are barely making it on base. It is the most confusing season of recent years, and that is including the 2020 COVID-shortened season.

One of the problems the Boston Red Sox had coming into the season was that they had too many starting pitchers. Well, with injuries, they lost two starters, on top of having a starter that has completely lost his groove. Fans could probably guess who that is.

If there is anyone who can hit leadoff for the Boston Red Sox, it is Jarren Duran. He was not hitting leadoff to start the season under Alex Cora, but since Chad Tracy took over, he has re-established himself as the go-to leadoff hitter on the team.

The Red Sox pitching staff has been the half of the team that has figured out what was going on. They are sitting 8th in the league in ERA, 12th in opponent batting average, and 10th in WHIP.

2026 seems to be another year where the Boston Red Sox cannot catch a break when it comes to injuries. Whether on the pitching or offensive side of the ball, the Red Sox always seem to get injuries over the smallest things.

Before Brayan Bello’s last two appearances, he had a 9.00 earned run average (ERA) in 21 innings pitched. He was not in the zone and was getting knocked around like he was a position player throwing meatballs over the strike zone.

The Boston Red Sox started this season with an outfield logjam. The problem still persists as of April 21. Jarren Duran has been the victim of the last few benchings, not without good reason.

It has been 16 games of the 2026–2027 season, and the Boston Red Sox have already been dealing with injuries to their pitching staff. It is a very scary sight, especially since it was a similar sight last season with all the injuries that started to pile up.

The Boston Red Sox are currently sitting with the worst record in baseball at 2-8. Miscues are also not being the Red Sox's friends; it seems like everything and anything is falling apart for them, and it kind of is.

The Boston Red Sox have officially played the first four games of their season. Unfortunately, they are sitting at the bottom of the AL East with a record of 1–3. On the plus side, there are 158 more games to play this campaign.

It is officially time for baseball. The Boston Red Sox finished their spring training Tuesday with a loss against the Minnesota Twins. Now they look to the start of the 2026 season in Cincinnati, Ohio, against the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday.
